Western Brewing Co. Stag Beer Tip Tray, Belleville, IL. Circa 1910

This spectacular Pre-Prohibition tip tray features a deer for the Stag Brand from the Western Brewing Company in Belleville, IL. Circa 1910.  The Western Brewing Company was owned by the Griesedieck family of brewers from the city of St. Louis, MO.  There are two different versions of this tray including one shaped more like a  bowl with deeper edges.  The Stag brand discontinued production in Belleville in 1979. However, the brand is still made today in Wisconsin and sold widely in the Belleville area.
