Columbia Brewing Co Banner Beer Pewter Lidded Beer Stein 1904

This Columbia Brewing Company Banner Beer mug  was most likely used during the St. Louis World’s Fair in 1904. The Columbia Brewing Company had a large display at the World’s Fair and introduced their Alpen Brau label at this event.  This mug is hand painted and features a pewter lid.  This mug is considered rare and is a favorite of Breweriana collectors.  During the Pre-Prohibition era, Columbia Brewing was one of the largest in the United States. It rivaled Wm. J Lemp Brewing Company and Anheuser-Busch in the Saint Louis marketplace.
